Record 599,000 cars, SUVs exported in April-November, upcoming Mexico tariff hike casts a shadow

At 599,276 passenger vehicles shipped, export sales are already 78% of the record 770,364 units in FY2024. While Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Nissan continue to lead, Toyota, Mahindra and Renault have posted strong growth. This speedy growth’s spoiler though could be Mexico, India’s third-largest PV export market, which has imposed a stiff hike in tariffs from January.
