Ola Launches Non-AC Ride Category Across India
Ride-hailing platform becomes country's only player to offer budget-friendly non-AC rides at scale nationwide
Ola Consumer has announced the nationwide rollout of its non-AC ride category, positioning itself as the sole ride-hailing platform in India to provide this option at scale across the country.
The new service aims to cater to price-sensitive commuters seeking affordable daily transportation options. The non-AC category is now available across Ola's range of vehicles, including autos, bikes, and cabs.
According to an Ola Consumer spokesperson, the launch addresses the needs of millions who rely on budget-conscious transport for their daily commutes. The company stated that early customer response has been strong, indicating substantial demand for transparent and competitively priced mobility solutions.
The initiative is expected to benefit the platform's driver community as well. With the non-AC option, drivers can access a broader customer base while potentially improving their earnings through reduced fuel consumption and lower operating costs associated with minimal air conditioning usage.
The rollout complements Ola's existing zero-commission model, which allows over a million driver partners to retain their full fare earnings without any deductions or income caps.
Ola Consumer operates India's largest mobility platform and ranks among the world's major ride-hailing companies. The company also manufactures electric vehicles at its Futurefactory facility.
