Ola Electric Begins Deliveries of Vehicles Powered by Domestically Manufactured Battery Cells
The Indian EV maker becomes the country's first company to manufacture both battery cells and packs in-house, marking a step toward local battery production.
Ola Electric announced on December 7, 2025, that it has started mass deliveries of vehicles equipped with its indigenously manufactured 4680 Bharat Cell battery packs. The S1 Pro+ scooter with a 5.2kWh battery is the first product to use these domestically produced cells, making Ola Electric the first Indian company to control both cell and battery pack manufacturing internally.
The company stated that deliveries are underway and that it plans to expand availability nationwide. An Ola Electric spokesperson described the launch as significant for India's position in the global electric vehicle market.
The S1 Pro+ model features a 13 kW motor and offers a range of 320 kilometers under IDC testing conditions with DIY mode. The scooter accelerates from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in 2.1 seconds and includes four riding modes: Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco. Safety features include dual ABS and disc brakes on both wheels. The model is available in six colors.
Ola Electric's product range includes several scooter models across different price segments. The premium S1 Gen 3 lineup consists of the S1 Pro+ in 5.2kWh and 4kWh variants priced at ₹1,90,338 and ₹1,70,338, and the S1 Pro in 4kWh and 3kWh configurations at ₹1,44,999 and ₹1,24,999.
