Corning collaborates with Visteon to develop and produce curved display systems
Corning is working with Visteon to commercialise Corning’s patented ColdForm technology for the automotive industry.
Corning, the US-based company that specialises in speciality glass, ceramics and related materials and technologies is going to start the mass production of its patented ColdForm technology for curved automotive display systems. It is collaborating with Visteon, an automotive cockpit electronics technology solution provider to further develop the technology.
Mike Kunigonis, vice president and general manager, Corning Automotive Glass Solutions said, “We’re working with Visteon, a market and innovation leader in digital clusters and multi-display modules, to commercialise Corning’s patented ColdForm Technology for the automotive industry. We’re excited that our advanced technical glass and innovative shaping processes will help deliver the most economical and highest quality curved display systems.”

Qais M. Sharif, global vice president, display product line at Visteon, added, “The digital cockpit is evolving into a multi-display and interactive environment driving electronics complexity and cost. This poses new challenges and opportunities for product design and engineering to deliver the enhanced user experience of the future. Applying Corning’s ColdForm Technology supports our goal to deliver the industry’s highest quality curved display modules for digital clusters and integrated center stack applications, as cost-efficiently as possible.”
Corning’s patented ColdForm Technology helps ecosystem partners, such as Visteon, unlock new curved design possibilities while delivering significant cost savings versus conventional hot-formed glass processing.
